This one has probably been asked before however the board is quiet so here goes... What do you think Frank's brother was like?

Wildly popular, a ladies man, smart, caring, and has tons of friends.

Ask anyone, like me, that has sibs that are very different. 2 sisters, 2 brothers here)

It's certainly possible that Frank's brother is everything that Frank isn't.

Does Frank say whether it's an older or younger brother? I can't remember (honestly, I can't remember what episode he mentions a brother in either). If it's an older brother, I could see the brother being very different. If younger, I would think it would be even more of a snitch and a sniveler.

All Frank said was that his brother called him Ferret Face and no mention of being younger or older. The brother was probably younger, smarter, talented, well liked, caring, athletic, compassionate, and married a great woman. Total opposite of Frank's life.

Have the writers or producers of Mash ever expressed regret for turning Frank into such a mess in his last season?

Apologies for bumping an old thread (I've been away for some time), but they did remark in the 30th Anniversary special that they always knew Larry Linville was getting the short end of the stick with Frank Burns often being made to look incompetent and a fool. There might have been other remarks, but I think that's what they were getting at there.
