Requesting a Big Daddy Bulletin

There's no way to privately message people on here, and I know this is kind of off-topic, but I just thought I'd toss it out there that I'm worried about you, Big Daddy.

You haven't been posting as often lately, and so it's just BeccaLeo, wdm1219inpenna, and FinestKindinTN (I personally have streaks of participation, although I visit the site 3 times/week or so). And of those of us still active or semi-active like myself, it seems like you share the most of yourself and your interests.

I've been to your website a few times in the past several months, and even on BCA it seems like you're frustrated and/or in a rut (you've made it explicitly clear on your blog, of course). I'm sorry if I'm putting your troubles out there too much, but I figured I'd let you know that I care how you're doing (ditto to all the other active BCAers!) and that I'm sure we're all here if you need to vent or just want to chat. There's always the off-topic section of the website, but it doesn't seem like anyone ever checks it :/

Amen to that

Big Daddy's pretty hard core about MASH and I enjoy the posts.

Sorry folks. I still lurk here often, it's just that so many of the topics we've had lately have been rehashes of discussions we've had in the past, and I just haven't felt like I've had anything more to add to them. I'm presently going through my summer binge-watching like I do every year - I'll be finished with Season 2 Monday and then onto Season 3!

Yes, as 2017 is now half over, it's admittedly already taken a toll on me: I knew this was going to be a rough year, but the negativity in the world has been a nonstop daily thing, and as a former pessimist myself, it's not a pleasant feeling to deal with nonstop negativity all over again: not just me, but almost everyone I knew including friends, family, and loved ones are being affected by something negative each and everyday . . . and a small number of other friends I have are actually reveling in all of this.

Oh, and in case anybody would like to stay in touch, you can always shoot me an email at scarmailxpress at gmail dot com.

Or, you can even connect with me on Facebook: facebook.com/josephscarbroughproductions

I don't use my Scarblog too often anymore (blogging, in general, seems to have died out) unless I have something to write about in greater detail.

I have to agree about the rehashing of old discussions. I'm a relative newcomer to message boards, but it seems there's a tension between the long-timers who've done the discussions already and newcomers who hadn't considered these discussions so they are new. On a message board for a show that finished up over 30 years ago, it's tough to find anything "new" to discuss - unfortunately, the new material is when a cast member dies.

I agree its difficult to come up with new ideas to post for series that finished its original run 34 years ago. We have to accept that old topics are going to be re-introduced into discussion and use it as an opportunity to evaluate our former thoughts on it. I enjoy reading fresh perspectives on characters, episodes, and themes of the series.

Thanks, Big Daddy. Good to know you're doing alright!

I have to agree with the rest of you--I've only had this account for 5 years, but I'd been on the website many times for a few years before that. And before that crash we had a year or two ago, it seemed like you could go through any post dating to 2002...I went through a bunch of those, years ago, to answer questions I'd had rattling in my head for years. But nowadays I don't have many more questions about the show. Most of this is, as you all said, rehashed.

I do enjoy the "what if" questions that occasionally are posted, like the recent Charles and Frank one. They force me to look at the show from a different perspective.
I hope Ms Flagg will upload the paper when she gets it back; I'm sure we could have several discussions about its content.
