Operation: M*A*S*H
M*A*S*H Convention

I believe M*A*S*H is one of the shows most deserving of a convention. Unfortunately, the convention plans haven't gotten very far. None of us who began planning it have had any experience in running a convention. Due to this lack of experience, we've had problems with the fundamentals to start (raising money, etc.) We've been searching for someone with experience in such matters to help out (or take on the task); however, we haven't found anyone yet. A few of us refuse to give up completely though (thus this page is still online) but each of us have become bogged down in other matters. If it sounds like something you would like to help with, email me. If/when something finally comes together, I'll post an update on the site.

The initial plans included donating a portion of the profits from the convention to an organization such as the Red Cross or some charity which was of interest to the late McLean Stevenson, donating it in his name.

The location decided upon was somewhere in Southern California in a city such as Malibu or Los Angeles. The old Fox Ranch is in the area so people could also visit the old outdoor site of M*A*S*H. The set itself was taken apart, but people can still visit the site which is now Malibu Canyon Creek State Park. Plans also included the possibility of getting one or more people who worked on M*A*S*H to come as special guests.

A few of the ideas for activities: a trivia contest, a raffle for M*A*S*H memorabilia, a screening room in which to watch episodes (including "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen" if we can get the rights to show the episodes), a character look-alike contest, a dance with a 50's theme (with songs such as those heard in the series), and refreshments.
