"One Person's Homecoming"

By Nsalem and D. Jacobs

Trapper walks into his home for the first time since he left Korea. 2 days on a chopper, two weeks on a boat, and one hour on a plane but it was worth it, his home. "Louise," Trapper yelled. No One answered. "Louise, Becky, Kathy where are you?" Trapper turns on the light in the kitchen.

"Surprise. Welcome Home," Every friend of his from before the war came out of there hiding place and said.

*That night*

Trapper was tossing and turning in his bed. "WHats wrong hon?" Asked Louise.

"Henrys dead," was all Trapper could say.

The next morning, Trapper woke at dawn. For a moment, he didn't know exactly where he was. Then he saw Louise, and remembered everything. He rose and walked into the kitchen. He couldn't get Henry's death off of his mind. He was replaying the last moment he saw Henry over and over in his mind... Henry waving as he flew off in the helicopter.

Louise walked into the kitchen, and saw Trapper staring off into space. "Honey.... are you ok?"

"I don't know... It's killing me. Henry is gone... none of my friends are here with me..."

"But they are. Last night..."

"They are NOT my friends. They are acquaintances. My friends are in Korea, saving soldier's lives..." Trapper yelled. Louise turned and walked out of the room.

"Honey I'm sorry," Trapper said while going after Louise. They manage to get into the kitchen. "I don't know whats wrong with me. When I was back in Korea all I wanted to do was come home. And now that I'm home all I want to do is go back. Henry's dead, I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to Hawkeye."

"What are we going to do?"

To be continued...
