"Are you sure you can find out?" asked Margaret nervously

"Well, I think so. I'm sure if Hawkeye feels the same way about you he's told BJ and if he has, we'll know." Said Faith

"I'm still not sure." Margaret said wringing her hands, "What if he hasn't told BJ."

Faith smiled, "Trust me, everything will work out."

Faith left Margaret's tent and headed for the swamp, she was hoping to talk to BJ alone. Unfortunately Charles was there with BJ.

"Hey BJ!" greeted Faith as she stepped into the swamp

"Don't you cretins ever knock?" scowled Charles

"Oops, sorry Chuckles!" said Faith, she walked back to the door, knocked twice and stepped back towards the still.

"Hey Faith, what's on your mind?" asked BJ

"Well, Beej I need to ask you something, but I would rather not ask it with Chuckles here."

"Don't worry, not only to I have no desire to hear what this question is, but I have Post Op duty."

Once Charles left, Faith sat on Hawkeye's empty bunk.

"So what is it?" asked BJ

"BJ, this may seem weird, but has Hawkeye mentioned Margaret a lot?"

"What do you mean?"

"Is he, does he, you know care about her?"

"Yeah, he does."

"I mean more than a friend."

"Yeah, I thought no one else knew. Why do you ask?"

"Because Margaret loves him too."

BJ's eyes grew wide. Then he smiled.

"This is great!" He grinned

"One problem, they're both stubborn, Hawkeye is afraid of rejection, Margaret's afraid of getting hurt. How are we supposed to get them together if they won't tell each other how they feel?" BJ thought for a moment.

"I think we have to convince them to tell each other. I'll talk to Hawk about it, you talk to Margaret and hopefully if they know they love each other, they can tell each other."

"Ok, well I better get going, Margaret will have my head if I make her wait."

BJ laughed as Faith sprinted out of the tent. Hawkeye walked across the compound just in time to see Faith sprint out of the swamp and past him.

"What did you say to Faith to make her run so fast?" laughed Hawkeye

"I told her you love Margaret." grinned BJ. Hawkeye's smile disappeared.

"YOU WHAT!?" he yelled

"Hawk settle down, Faith came in here and asked me if you loved Margaret, I told her you do and she told me that Margaret loved you too."

Hawkeye flopped on his cot and ran a hand through his hair.

"What's wrong, Hawk?"

"We tried it once Beej, it didn't work." Hawkeye looked at the floor. "She tried to change me, and I wasn't much help either. What if this doesn't work?"

BJ knew about the hut, he understood what Hawkeye was saying.

"But, Hawk you're both different people now. You weren't even friends then. But she's you friend now, has she tried to change you lately?"

"No, but Beej, that's just it. We're friends if we can't make it work then, we might lose our friendship."

BJ looked at his friend sympathetically.

"Trust me Hawkeye, love's worth any risk." He thought of Erin and Peg.

"Yeah, you're right Beej."

Faith walked into Post Op, she had been looking for Margaret and was relieved to finally find her.

"Major, can I see you in Klinger's office?"

"Yes, captain."

Once the two left Post Op and were certain that no one was around Margaret couldn't take it anymore.

"Well?!" she said

"Well what?" teased Faith

"You know perfectly well, what I mean!"

"I do?" said Faith pretending to be shocked, Margaret gave her a killer look.

"Ok, ok, I talked to BJ and I found out that..."she paused "Hawkeye loves you too!"

Margaret sat down on Klinger's bed, shocked.

"Are you sure?" she asked

"Yup!"

Margaret thought for a moment.

"I still don't know if I can tell him." She whispered

"Well, meet me in the Officer's Club during the movie tonight and we'll talk about it." Said Faith smiling

"Ok, I'll see you then." Margaret went back to Post Op and Faith headed to the swamp.

"Knock, Knock boys!" said Faith as she entered the swamp. Hawkeye and BJ were playing checkers and Charles was on Post op duty with Margaret. Hawkeye looked up at Faith and grinned.

"What are you so happy about? Did you tell him what I told you, BJ?"

"Yes, and he hasn't stopped grinning yet." Laughed BJ

"I have a right to grin!" said Hawkeye "I'm in love!"

"Not yet," said Faith "You still haven't told Margaret yet."

Hawkeye's smile disappeared.

"I don't know if I can." He said.

"Margaret said the same thing. I don't see what your problem is, but you two can't keep avoiding each other forever. Tell you what, meet me in the Officer's Club during the movie tonight and we'll talk about it."

Hawkeye smiled, "ok."

Faith watched the two men play checkers and smiled inwardly, this just might work.

In the Officer's club

"Where is she?" thought Margaret, just then Hawkeye walked in the door.

"Hi." He said slowly "Am I in the wrong place?"

"I don't know did Faith tell you to meet her here?"

"Yeah,' he said pulling up a chair. "I think we've been set up."

Margaret looked down at her hands, "Is that a bad thing?"

Hawkeye looked at her shocked, Major Houlihan being nervous around him?

"I don't think it's a bad thing, do you?" he asked, she shook her head

"Is it, is it true, I mean is Faith right about what you told BJ?" she stammered

"That depends, do you want it to be true?" he asked carefully

Margaret looked at him, "I think I do," she sighed trying not to cry. Hawkeye got up and hugged her.

"Margaret, I'm sorry, I've been stupid I should have told you before how I feel, but I didn't want you to think you were a notch in my belt." Margaret started to cry.

"I-I know, I'm just scared your going to hurt me."

"Margaret Houlihan, I love you, and I'll never hurt you."

"Oh, Hawkeye, I love you too!" the two kissed passionately and Faith walked away from the Officer's club.

"Finally," she said to herself "I love a happy ending, but I have a feeling this is just the beginning."
